Workshop 2006
Coordinating Anthropological Film Festivals in Europe (CAFFE)
March 2006 directors of Anthropological Film Festivals in Europe met during the Bilan du film ethnographique in Paris to discuss how they could coordinate their work in future. It was decided that the discussions should continue during the Film Festival in Göttingen in May.
In Paris the following festival directors and netowrkers met:
- Beeld voor Beeld, Amsterdam (Eddy Appels)
- Bilan du film ethnographique, Paris (Francoise Foucault)
- Göttingen International Film Festival (Beate Engelbecht)
- NAFA (Nordic Anthropological Film Association) (Peter Crawford)
- SIFF (Sardinia International Film Festival), Nuoro (Paolo Piquereddu)
- Viscult, Joensuu/Finland (Pekka Silvennoinen)
- and CVA (Commission on Visual Anthropology) as an umbrella organisation (Rolf Husmann).
In Göttingen the following festival directors and netowrkers were present:
- Beeld voor Beeld, Amsterdam (Eddy Appels)
- Göttingen International Film Festival (Beate Engelbecht)
- NAFA (Nordic Anthropological Film Association) (Peter Crawford)
- Royal Anthropological Institut - Film Festival, London (Susanne Hammacher)
- Tartu Festival of Visual Culture, Tartu/Estonia (Pille Runnel, Liivo Niglas)
- and CVA (Commission on Visual Anthropology) as an umbrella organisation (Rolf Husmann).
Additionally, Anya Bernstein (New York), Knud Fischer-Möller (Kopenhagen), Hu Tai-Li (Taiwan International Ethnographic Film Festival), Nasko Kriznar (Lubljiana), Gautam Sonti (Bangalore), and Ivana Todorovic (Beograd) attended the workshop.
